Among many messages that I read through yesterday one particular Facebook alert caught my eye. The Neighborhood Theatre that lights up the streets of Charlotte’s Northern Arts District could be in danger of darkening for good.

Recently, the Charlotte Observer ran a story titled, “3rd woman accuses officer”. The title alone sparked my interest, so I continued reading. As reported by the Observer, Marcus Jackson, a 25 year old Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer, has been charged with three counts of sexual battery, second-degree sexual offense, kidnapping, extortion, indecent exposure and felonious restraint.

Growing up, I was always the one in charge of putting up the Christmas tree. And it sucked. Every year.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas. Easily my favorite holiday. But putting up that f$&cking Christmas tree, I must say, always humbugged the shit out of me — to the point that just a couple years ago I did the unthinkable: I went fake. And for good reason; here’s why.

Have you been to Concord Mills in Concord NC lately? If so, you’re probably well aware of the current situation there. What I mean specifically is the growing number of thugs and shady people showing up in the mall.
Christmas is synonymous with words like joy and giving but it also communes with words like traffic and pushy sales people. The mall seems to be one of my foundations for rage and that is where my story takes place.
