Do Coaches ‘Keep It Real’ Before Inevitable Blow-outs?

In college basketball on Tuesday night #7 Duke beat Gardner-Webb 113-68. That same night #2 Texas beat Texas-Pan American 104-42. Now pretend you’re the coach of Texas-Pan American or Gardner-Webb. What are you saying to your team before the game to get them motivated? Or are you just apologizing to them for the upcoming unstoppable onslaught of emasculating embarrassment?

Jake Delhomme Playing on Sunday Against Arizona

The Carolina Panthers aren’t changing quarterbacks.

Yesterday head coach John Fox announced that Jake Delhomme will start on Sunday against Arizona. Jake currently leads the league in interceptions and has the fourth worst quarterback rating in the league.

The Charlotte Roller Girls — the city’s very own roller derby team — will perform an exhibition Friday night to celebrate the opening of the new Drew Berrymore/Ellen Page epic masterpiece movie “Whip It” (http://www.foxsearchlight.com/whipit/).
